His accolades include the Excellent Young Paper Award in Engineering Thermodynamics, the First Prize of Science and Technology of China Coal Industry, the Special Prize of Technological Invention of the Chinese Society of Refrigeration, and the First Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award. He holds more than 20 independent intellectual property patents, with his technology deployed in over 50 large-scale skid-mounted projects.

Dr. Cheng specializes in the research and optimization of skid-mounted natural gas liquefaction systems. His research into the phase change heat transfer characteristics and flow properties of mixed working mediums earned him the 2015 Special Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Refrigeration Society and the 2016 First Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award. He acts as the chief architect for process flow designs across the company's purification, liquefaction, and thermal refrigeration systems.
