However, domestic distribution inside the Turkish mainland faces geological obstacles and infrastructural limits. The national gas transport grid operated by BOTAŞ covers major cities, but remote industrial centers—specifically the *Organized Industrial Zones (OSB)* in Eastern Anatolia and inland regions—frequently suffer from supply bottlenecks or lack pipeline connectivity.
Additionally, small-to-midscale gas fields in the Thrace Basin and oil-associated gas fields in Southeastern Anatolia (controlled by entities like TPAO) present a challenge: conventional pipeline connections for these wells are financially non-viable. This is where Truck-Mounted and Skid-Mounted LNG Plants become an essential asset.
By liquefying natural gas directly at the source, Turkish energy operators can bypass pipeline constraints entirely. Skid-mounted processing systems transform stranded natural gas into high-value liquid form (LNG) at the wellhead. This LNG is then distributed via specialized cryogenic road tankers to distant industrial end-users, gas-fired power stations, and localized municipal grids, creating a virtual pipeline network across Turkey.

Before liquefaction, raw feed gas undergoes thorough purification to prevent dry-ice formation in the cryogenic heat exchangers. The skid integrates an amine wash system (MDEA) for CO₂ removal (<50 ppm), molecular sieve dehydration beds to extract water vapor (<1 ppm), and activated carbon beds for mercury and heavy hydrocarbon removal.
Using the optimized Single Mixed Refrigerant (SMR) or Nitrogen Expander cycle, the gas is cooled down to -162°C. The process utilizes premium brazed aluminum plate-fin heat exchangers (BAHX) enclosed in an evacuated cold box. This design minimizes heat influx, ensuring a high coefficient of performance even in high ambient temperatures.
Equipped with smart Siemens PLCs, the entire system can be managed remotely. It integrates Boil-Off Gas (BOG) re-liquefaction loops to guarantee zero venting during operation, helping Turkish industrial operators comply with international clean energy directives and environmental policies.
Initial mechanical filtration removes free water, condensates, and solid particulates down to 0.1 microns, protecting the downstream amine and molecular sieve beds from fouling.
Proprietary amine solvent formulations wash out high-concentration CO₂ and H₂S. Next, dual molecular sieve vessels alternate between adsorption and thermal regeneration to dry the gas.
A multi-stage centrifugal compressor handles the mixed refrigerant. The high-pressure refrigerant undergoes Joule-Thomson expansion, producing the necessary sub-cooling cooling duty for the natural gas stream.

A doctoral candidate and Senior Engineer at the Institute of Physics and Chemistry Technology, CAS, Zou Xin oversees Hebei Hongke Qingneng's global operations. He has led research on "12th Five-Year Plan" projects and aerospace-grade cryogenic systems. He has published 24 peer-reviewed academic papers (including 11 indexations in SCI/EI) and holds 5 patents. His work was recognized with the Special Prize of the Chinese Society of Refrigeration (2015) and the Silver Medal at the 19th China International Industry Fair.
Dr. Cheng completed his Doctorate at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, focusing on the research, development, and scaling of modular natural gas liquefaction systems. He was awarded the 2015 Special Prize of Science and Technology from the Chinese Refrigeration Society. His expertise centers on multi-component refrigerant phase-change heat transfer and complex fluid dynamics inside cryogenic cold boxes.
